Are You Getting the Statewide Benefits of Effective Local Public Health Partnerships?
Partnerships built with local public health benefit local communities as well as the state. The Minnesota Department of Health is offering a 3-session series to share success stories from the Office of Statewide Health Improvement Initiatives, Opioid Pilot Project. Participants will learn about Minnesota’s legislative mandate to address the opioid epidemic and how Minnesota built and sustained effective partnerships between its Department of Health and local public health agencies.
The three sessions (May 17, July 19, Sept 20) will provide an overview of the Minnesota Statewide Health Improvement Partnership (SHIP), followed presentations by Wright County and St. Louis County describing their unique experiences in building local community partnerships and opioid prevention and responses. Participants will have opportunities to reflect with fellow OD2A participants on replicable, real-world examples of how local health departments supported state and local drug overdose response activities. Participants will set action items for their own communities.
